How do I start an online chat? Here are some steps:
- Before using the chat, you should be aware that the consultation is recorded and by entering the chat you agree to be recorded.
- To start the chat, you need to specify your age, gender and what you want to talk about
From 1 January 2025 our chat is open every day from 13:00 to 18:00
You can start the chat at the specified time by clicking on the “Start Chat” button in the bottom right corner.
The personal information provided by you through this channel is processed by the SACP in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the Personal Data Protection Act.
IMPORTANT! The National Childline 116 111 and Chat may not respect the principle of confidentiality if your life is in danger during the call. In this case, the 116 111 advisor will connect your call to the general emergency number 112 so that you can get the help you need urgently.
NTLD 116 111 and the Chat may not respect the principle of confidentiality after learning that a serious offence against a child is being prepared.
If it says “No chat possible”, it could mean:
- Not during the stated hours of operation from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm each day. Here you are in our out of hours.
- Our chat is open every day from 13:00 to 18:00.
You can then try again on another day or contact us directly on the free National Childline 116 111.
Note: No new chats can be started after the specified time, although the chat may still appear to be open. You can then contact us again in the following days chat or directly on 116 111 if you wish.
During the chat, you can register here (link leading to the chat).
If you need emergency help right away, contact 112 or us 24/7, free and anonymously on 116 111!
If all the Chat consultants are busy, you will have to wait.
